How Important Is An Hdmi Receiver For Blu Ray Surround Sound For Blu Ray And 1080p TV?

Surround Sound for Blu Ray and 1080p TV? - how important is an hdmi receiver for blu ray

I have a Blu-ray, a 1080p TV and want surround sound. If I go with a 5.1 system, what are the things to keep in mind? I do not understand why I have HDMI inputs and outputs and the receiver, it is important?

It seems that it might be: Blu-ray audio receiver / Blu-ray video to the TV via HDMI.

Am I missing something? Help please!

Si. . Lanuguage understanding of answering questions here, but I'm going to stop rude. When you give to what is known as Dolby True HD (which is the next generation 5.1 or genuine 7.1 surround sound), you need a receiver, HDMI, and this format and will be on these receptors. It will cost more, but the sound is freaking amazing. The reason why we need the HDMI cable is that it is a purely digital transmission Incorrupt the Blu-ray to the receiver. It is also easier to connect, you will buy fewer cable runs and the long term. If you want to stay with 5.1 surround sound standard, you can definitely do as you said and still sound. But the way I see it, and all the equipment, why not at an end.

If you buy the right equipment, everything you need to do, "daisy chain" of your home theater with HDMI cable. If you do not have the right to Blu-ray Disc or a receiver, then you will not be able to use an HDMI cable to get the "zip" (or "lossless") audio output of your films.
